Four men sentenced in bribery, conspiracy scheme

    A group of Red River Army Depot officials have received sentences in a case involving bribery and conspiracy.

    44-year-old Jeffrey Harrison of Texarkana pleaded guilty in May of last year to bribing Jimmy Scarbrough.  Harrison was working as an RRAD vendor, while Scarbrough was an RRAD official.  Harrison was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison and ordered to forfeit $300,000. 

    52-year-old Justin Bishop also pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day in federal prison, as well as a $55,000 forfeiture. 

    43-year-old Devin McEwin pleaded guilty to receiving bribes from Harrison and was given five years’ probation including eight months of house arrest.  McEwin will have to forfeit $21,000 along with a fine of $5,000. 

    64-year-old Louis Singleton also pleaded guilty to receiving bribes and was given five years of probation and eight months house arrest with a forfeiture of $18,000.
