Man leads multiple agencies on chase into Louisiana

Deputies and police from several East Texas counties pursued a man in a stolen vehicle into Caddo Parish on Sunday.

Deputies from Harrison attempted to stop a stolen vehicle from Dallas around 8:30 p.m. on I-20.  The driver fled from the stop, leading police on a chase through Gregg and Smith counties before turning east.  Deputies from those counties, as well as police from Longview, Hallsville, and Waskom, joined the pursuit before the driver crossed into Louisiana.

Greenwood police deployed spike strips, halting the vehicle near a visitor’s center.

Driver Reginald Sanders and passenger Shauntavia Newsom then fled on foot before being taken into custody.  The pair were booked into Caddo Correctional Center awaiting charges in Texas.

Sanders is wanted by multiple agencies for numerous robbery investigations in the DFW area.
