Arkansas SWEPCO customers will see a rate hike in July.
The Arkansas Public Service Commission has approved a new base rate and interim fuel adjustment for SWEPCO, which will mean that residents will see an increase of about $13 on their monthly bill.
SWEPCO says this increase reflects the company’s investments in power grid resiliency and reliability, as well as clean power generation, including their purchase of wind facilities in Oklahoma.
SWEPCO filed the rate request in July with the APSC, who authorized the increase of $48.7 million in May of 2022. The change will affect almost 125,000 SWEPCO customers in Arkansas.
